kaleo kids
WE VALUE THE CHILDREN GOD HAS BLESSED US WITH AND LONG TO SEE THEM KNOW JESUS BETTER. TO DO THAT WE ARE COMMITTED TO PARTNERING WITH PARENTS TO TEACH THEM HOW JESUS CHRIST IS THE HERO OF THE ENTIRE STORY OF THE BIBLE.
Children are a precious gift of God. In his grace, God has designed children’s hearts and minds to be uniquely moldable. At Kaleo Kids, we long for the children to come to know God as the good Father that he is. A Father that loved us so much that sent his beautiful Son to offer salvation to anyone who would put their trust in him. The curriculum we use has been hand-picked to display these big truths while also being age-appropriate. Since it’s true that children are sinners just like us, it is absolutely necessary that they come to see Jesus as the Lord and Savior that they so desperately need. We consider it a privilege to be able to join parents in proclaiming the good news of the Gospel to their children.
Classes
SHEEP: 8 MONTH TO 2 YEAR OLDS
The nursery is a safe place for little ones to learn about God. We work hard to be intentional with these precious little ones. Things like reading stories, singin songs, and prayer are always included. Our volunteers enjoy celebrating big truths about God with this age group.
LIONS: 3 TO 4 YEAR OLDS
Through an age appropriate Bible story, a coloring sheet or craft, memory verses, games and even free time, we work hard to make the most of every moment we have with the kids. It is our prayer that each student will eventually come to grasp their great need for Jesus and be called into a loving relationship with God.
DEER: 5 TO 6 YEAR OLDS
We love fostering deeper conversation with this age group and seeing their understanding of the Gospel develop. Each week the story is meant to point to Christ, as we chronologically walk through the Bible. Resources like activity sheets, crafts and take-home cards are used to support their learning.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What curriculum is used at Kaleo Kids?
We use the Gospel Project, a curriculum which takes kids on a Christ-centered, chronological journey through Scripture. Kids discover how the gospel unfolds from Genesis to Revelation. When kids truly experience the gospel, their hearts are transformed. It is the gospel, not good behavior, that changes everything.
What training is required of volunteers?
Every volunteer working at Kaleo Kids must complete a background check. Additionally, volunteers must attend Kaleo for a required amount of time before volunteering to serve at Kaleo Kids, as well as being actively involved in a Missional Community or Discipleship Group. Lastly, every volunteer must be recommended to serve by a church leader or do an interview with the Kid's Ministry Leader.
COMMUNITIES
THE CHURCH IS A DIVERSE FAMILY OF SINNERS WHO HAVE BEEN ADOPTED BY GOD AS HIS PRECIOUS CHILDREN. OUR COMMUNITIES EXIST TO HELP US LIVE OUT OUR IDENTITY AS FAMILY.
As a family, we gather together weekly in order to speak the truth in love to each other and remind each other to keep Jesus first in our lives. Our hope is that our times together would breed relationships that would extend throughout the week and be a source of encouragement and an opportunity to love one another just as Christ has loved us.
We also believe that together we can do more to reach the lost in our community than we could ever do on our own and so our Missional Communities give us opportunities to join forces with others and be on mission together.
If you are not a part of one of these communities, we would love for you to come and join us. We need the gifts that God has given you, and we believe that by God’s grace we will be able to be an encouragement to you as well.

DNA GROUPS
DNA groups are intended to create an environment for discipleship to take place. They are gender specific groups of 3-5 people who commit to getting together regularly in order to help each other apply the Gospel to their daily lives. They are time where we confess our sin and our weakness and have the opportunity to be reminded both of the forgiveness that is offered for our past failures and the power that God has provided us to fight against the temptations that lie ahead. The goal is that they would be a place where we could fulfill Ephesians 4:15 by speaking the truth in love to one another as we all seek to grow up in every way to be more and more like Jesus.
PARTNERSHIPS
THE BIBLE IS THE UNFOLDING STORY OF GOD'S REDEMPTIVE MISSION. FROM THE MOMENT SIN ENTERED THE WORLD GOD HAS BEEN PURSUING HUMANITY TO REDEEM AND RESTORE THEM BACK TO HIMSELF AND HIS GLORY.
This mission culminates in the sending of Jesus Christ into the world, whose life, death, and resurrection reconciles sinful humanity back into relationship with its Creator. As the people of God we are now graciously invited to participate in this mission. The good news of the gospel has now been entrusted to the Church–sent out into the world as ambassadors of Christ (2 Cor. 5:18-20).
One of the ways we have responded to our God-given mission is to build strategic and intentional partnerships in our community, nation, and world. These partnerships allow us to engage in God's global redemptive mission by equipping and resourcing individuals, churches, and organizations to take the gospel to the end of the earth.
serve the city
We believe that mission starts within our own community first. Although we believe that El Cajon is not our true home (Phil. 3:20), we do believe that God has sovereignly placed us in El Cajon to seek and pray for the welfare of our city (Jer. 29:7). In doing so, not only is our hope that people would come to treasure Jesus, but we really believe El Cajon can become a better place to live.
One of our favorite times of the year is Serve the City. It is a time where we take our vacation days, and instead of going on a mission trip oversees, we take a mission trip to the city of El Cajon. The goal in doing this is to better love and serve our local neighbors through a basketball camp, and several other projects in order to show off the great love our God has first shown us (1 John 4:19).
SERVE THE WORLD
We believe God's desire is to redeem a people from every tribe, language, people group and nation. Therefore, we are committed to partnering with organizations and churches around the world to advance God's mission of taking the gospel to "the ends of the earth."

CHURCH PLANTING
We believe the Church is God’s vehicle for demonstrating and communicating the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. Therefore, we are passionate about planting new churches and partnering with existing churches in order to accomplish God’s purpose in the world.
We are part of the Treasuring Christ Together Network who, in dependence upon God’s grace, envision a future filled with missional, growing, global, and networked churches planting churches.
TCT Network's mission is to joyfully serve pastors and their wives and support churches to start new Christ-treasuring churches.
