Over the past couple weeks we have seen from the Psalms that there is no better place to be than gathered with God's people in God's presence. The church may look and feel small and insignificant at times, but just like it was in the first century, it is the place where "the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places" (Ephesians. 3:10). The church is an already-not-yet organism, meaning we experience some of the realities of being united to Christ now by faith, but we do not yet experience them in their fullness by sight.
Much of what takes place in the body of Christ is a living out our new identities in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17) in a way that seems so ordinary, and yet is so other-worldly. The body is supposed to be real-life functioning organism that lives for the glory of God and for the encouragement and building up of that body (1 Cor. 12:12-31). What is your role in Christ's body at Kaleo Church? We are one of many kingdom outposts that aim to faithfully proclaim the gospel, enjoy being a part of God's family, and receiving all the benefits of being a part of that family. Maybe you've been joining us for a while and are wondering what it means to be a part of a local church in a way that honors Jesus, loves the family, and is empowered by the Spirit for mission to the city and world.
This November we will be having membership classes for those who are interested in becoming a part of our little local family at Kaleo Church. There will be classes two Sundays in a row and you will learn what we believe, who we are, and what we believe we are called to do. This is a great time to learn more and ask questions. If you are interested and would like to explore membership with Kaleo Church please let Tim, Wes, or Josh know you'd like to participate in the membership class.
